Will Wynn
Austin's Mayor, Will Wynn was born
and raised in Beaumont and graduated from Texas A&M
University with a degree in Environmental Design.
His roots run deep in Austin where his ancestors were
early settlers, merchants and politicians.
Will has over two decades of experience in the commercial
real estate industry handling major projects in and
around Austin. Will and his wife, Ann Elizabeth are
very active in the community with such organizations
as the Hill Country Conservancy, St. David's Foundation,
Women and Their Work, KLRU, the Blanton Museum, the
Austin Poetry Slam and the Austin Film Society. Will
has served as Chair of the Downtown Austin Alliance
and Director for the Children's Museum and the Heritage
Society of Austin.
Elected to the Austin City Council
in May, 2000, Will's work was primarily focused on
transportation issues, public safety, affordable housing,
habitat and open-space conservation, and regional
planning. Will was then elected to be the 50th Mayor
of Austin on May 3, 2003.
Mayor Will loves listening to Guy
Clark's music and canoeing with his two daughters
on Town Lake.
